Georg Behrens is a clinical immunologist and studied medicine in Hannover and Giessen. After his clinical training in the Division of Clinical Immunology at Hannover Medical School he went as a postdoctoral fellow to the Immunolgy Divison at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Autralia. He returned to Hannover where he is now an Assistant Professor for T cell immunology. He is an internationally acknowledged expert in metabolic side effects of HIV therapy. He also studies the adaptive immune responses to viral infections and during autoimmune conditions. In these fields, he has published several reports in The Lancet, J. Clin. Invest., Nat.
